Kathryn is co-founder and CEO of Decoded, a technology education company up-skilling and re-skilling professionals in code, data, AI and machine learning. Their philosophy of no jargon, fun, fast, hands-on learning has resonated with a generation grappling with the impacts of AI and Automation. The Decoded Data Academies launched in 2018 with an ambition to fill the professional data skills gap. Kathryn is recommending business leaders ensure a 50:50 female/male learner ratio. Decoded now operates in over 85 cities worldwide.
Described as "an economic force" Kathryn sits on the UK Prime Minister and London Mayors Business Advisory Boards and is a non-executive on the board of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. She was part of the successful campaign to have code introduced as a mandatory to the UK national curriculum in September 2014 and in 2016 received an MBE in the Queen's New Year's Honours list for services to education.
