Dr Claire Novorol
Dr Claire Novorol is co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of Ada Health, a healthtech startup based in London and Berlin that uses AI to help people understand their health and guide them to appropriate care. At Ada’s core lies a sophisticated medical reasoning engine that supports patients and doctors by providing high quality health information.
After studying medicine at the University of Bristol, Claire worked as an NHS doctor with roles in paediatric neurology at Great Ormond Street and Clinical Genetics in Cambridge. While studying for her PhD in developmental neurobiology at the University of Cambridge, Claire became interested in healthtech and took on advisory roles with several startups that wanted to enhance their tech with expert medical knowledge.
This led her to found Doctorpreneurs, a global community for healthcare professionals who are interested in tech and entrepreneurship. Claire is also an Entrepreneurship Expert at the Oxford Entrepreneurship Centre at Saïd Business School, with a focus on new venture creation and startup strategy and growth.
It was through Doctorpreneurs that Claire met her two Ada co-founders: a serial entrepreneur (CEO, Daniel Nathrath) and an AI expert (Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Martin Hirsch). The company was founded in 2011 and developed over 5 years to create its extensive medical database and sophisticated AI system before launching in late 2016 with the mission to bring the future of personalised care to everyone.
As Chief Medical Officer at Ada, Claire is responsible for all medical aspects of the product and business and for working with clinicians and patients to further develop Ada’s technology and partner ecosystem. She is regularly approached by national and international media as an expert voice on healthtech, AI, entrepreneurship and women in tech.
